DIRK Workshop on the Implementation of ESG Criteria in Investors Relations

Sustainability is a highly discussed topic. However, the understanding of the term sustainability can vary significantly. Especially in the capital market communication, sustainability stands for many aspects. This can present challenges, especially for the implementation of ESG criteria in practice.

Organized by Deutscher Investor Relations Verband DIRK, the workshop helped practitioners to better understand ESG implementation in Investor Relations. Various aspects on possible challenges and stepwise solutions were illuminated.

Johannes Buerkle from SAP illustrated which effects it can have if one does not know the trace of one’s data. In context of the EU taxonomy, Dr. Holger Perlwitz from TU Dresden discussed how “sustainable” a sustainable bond actually has to be in the future and who decides about it. And Sustainserv Managing Director Dr. Ralf Frank discussed the practice of the application of the taxonomy based on concrete cases.

The incorporation of ESG in Investor Relations, as a classic change process, was illustrated in a case study by Martin Ziegenbalg from Deutsche Post DHL. Another case study, illustrated by Dr. Adam Strzyz from Uniper, discussed the TCDF-implementation in practice.

Sustainserv’s contribution to this event was part of our 20-year-celebration event program to thank our clients and partners for the privilege to work with them over the last two decades.
