Forum ö presented by Sustainserv

Reporting, compliance, stakeholder management – the current sustainability debate in companies revolves heavily around compliance with external requirements. Are we losing sight of the opportunities of corporate sustainability? And how can we get back on track?

Under this year’s motto “Quo vadis sustainable economy?”, öbu, the association for sustainable business, is focusing at Forum ö on content that has been pushed to the margins of sustainable business. Sustainability opens up opportunities: for our environment, for companies, for employees and in every single business area – from digitalization to the supply chain, from corporate culture to the circular economy. The event brings together up to 200 participants from business, science and society to discuss forward-looking and future-proof business models that recognize the prospects of a sustainable orientation.

We are proud to be able to support the Forum ö this year with Sustainserv as presenting partner with a closing dialog and a breakout session.

Closing Dialog: Sustainable Value Creation – a Global Perspective

Speakers: Dr. Matthew Gardner and Dr. Stefan Gara from Sustainserv

Where does business stand on sustainability? While Swiss companies face increasingly comprehensive ESG regulation, particularly from the EU, growing uncertainty and polarisation make it difficult to focus on long-term change. How can we bring the core concept of sustainable value creation back into focus? In this closing dialogue, Matthew Gardner and Stefan Gara will discuss different approaches and provide insights into recent developments in the US and the EU. They will explore how global trends and local actions can work together to drive sustainable progress and shape a sustainable economy.

Breakout Session: The Role of “Climate Design” in Business: A Systems Approach to Value Creation

Instead of just fulfilling external requirements, companies should actively explore the opportunities that arise from solving the climate crisis – ranging from new business areas to cutting-edge technologies. “Climate Design” combines climate protection with value creation, both within and beyond the company, laying a strategic foundation for a climate-resilient future. The goal is to develop a climate-resilient corporate strategy (climate governance) that embeds climate considerations across the entire value chain. Sustainserv will share key insights on how “Climate Design” can connect climate protection with value creation, guiding companies toward strategic climate resilience and long-term sustainability.
